Chelsea have now come out and announced that Academy attacker Mathis Eboue has signed his first professional contract with the club following his 17th birthday.
The Blues posted: ‘Eboue joined the Blues from Watford in January 2025 and has made an immediate impact both on and off the pitch.
‘During his time at Watford, he made his Under-21s debut while still in his Under-16s age group, highlighting his rapid development at an early stage.
‘Eboue began his first full season at CHELSEA with the Under-18s and marked his introduction with a goal in a 4-2 away victory against Crystal Palace. He has also made his UEFA Youth League debut, featuring in a 5-2 win over Benfica at Cobham.
‘The attacking midfielder has gone on to make 16 appearances for the Under-18s this season, becoming a regular presence in the side and scoring three goals across all competitions.
‘His strong form has earned recognition at international level. Eboue made his England Under-17s debut in September 2025 and has since been a consistent member of the squad. In November, he capped off his progress by scoring a hat-trick in England’s 5-2 victory over the USA.
‘Congratulations, Mathis!’
IcChelseanews Says…
CHELSEA have obviously been very impressed with the young man and that is why he has not earned his first professional contract, it is a massive moment for the lad and one that hopefully takes him to another level.
He has alot of hard work ahead of him if he wants to get into that Blues first team squad, but if he is good enough, if he is able to put in the hard work and impress Liam Rosen ier, he will get chances.
But great news for the lad.
