Liam Rosenior names former Chelsea outcast as one of the club’s ‘brightest sparks’

The general consensus is that it has been an extremely positive start to life at Chelsea for new manager Liam Rosenior.

The boss has won six of his eight first games in charge, with the only two defeats coming in both legs of the EFL Cup semi-final against Arsenal.

Rosenior is unbeaten in the Premier League since taking over, seeing him nominated for the Manager of the Month award for January.

It looks as if the manager is starting to get his players on board. Trevoh Chalobah in particular stated he bought into the tactics which came under fire against Arsenal.

Liam Rosenior says Trevoh Chalobah has been ‘brightest spark’ since taking over Chelsea

The defender has played 90 minutes in every Premier League and EFL Cup game since the new boss took over, and he has proven to be a crucial element of his defence.

Rosenior admitted in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Wolves that Chalobah has been one of the ‘brightest sparks’ of his time in charge at Stamford Bridge.

He said to Football London: “Trevoh, the way he is playing. I said to the players I will gauge everything on what I see now and not what’s happened before.

“Trevoh has been one of the brightest sparks. He loves this club, he understands what it takes to win and he has made a fantastic impression to us so far.”

It is likely that the England international retains his place in the side for the upcoming game, with the Blues looking to maintain their place in the Champions League spots.
