The 29-year-old Australian-South Sudanese big man had just joined Atlanta.

On February 1, Reath was traded to the Hawks from the Portland Trail Blazers along with a 2027 second-round pick and a 2030 second-round pick, in exchange for Vit Krejci.

This season, Reath appeared in 32 games for Portland, averaging 2.9 points and 1.2 rebounds in 8.1 minutes per game. In late January, he underwent season-ending foot surgery to repair a stress fracture.

Reath is a three-year NBA veteran who has played 146 games, including 20 starts, all with the Trail Blazers.
