Al Nassr striker Jhon Duran has been “offered” to Newcastle United, according to reports.
The Colombian international has spent the first half of this season on loan at Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce, but he is expected to be on the move once again before the transfer window shuts.
TEAMtalk claim that the Magpies were among six Premier League teams who were given the opportunity to sign Duran in January.

Leeds, Tottenham, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace And West Ham were also made aware of the 22-year-old’s availability via intermediaries.
Duran’s career has taken a strange path
The forward started last season in phenomenal form for Aston Villa, scoring 12 goals in all competitions, but he left for the Saudi Pro League at the end of the 2025 January transfer window in a deal worth an eyewatering £71m.
However, Duran only spent six months in the Middle East. The Colombian was believed to be unsettled, and he left Al-Nassr to join Fenerbahce at the beginning of July.
Things haven’t quite gone to plan in Turkey, with injuries and competition for places limiting his game time.
Newcastle are not short of strikers
Having recruited Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa for a combined £124m last summer, manager Eddie Howe doesn’t really have a need for a player like Duran, despite his undoubted potential.
Other positions do require reinforcements. Howe would like another fullback and a centre-half, but when asked at the weekend if any signings could be made on Deadline Day, the Magpies boss replied:
“No.”
That is a pretty emphatic answer, and not one that fans would want to hear. It seems those expecting movement, at least in terms of incomings, prior to 7 PM on Monday evening, will be left disappointed.
