The Los Angeles Lakers are not expected to make any more moves before Thursday's trade deadline following the Luke Kennard deal, according to Broderick Turner of the LA Times.
Los Angeles Lakers / Schedule
Their biggest challenge is that they no longer have any second-round picks, having included one to acquire Kennard, notes Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
Without those picks, salary-dump trades become much more difficult. This raises questions about whether Dalton Knecht will remain in LA, even if he isn't traded.
Turner adds that the Lakers are instead looking to make a bigger splash this summer, when they'll have more flexibility.
They're expected to have around $60 million in salary cap space, along with three first-round picks – in 2026, 2031, and 2023 – that could be used to sweeten trade offers, potentially even in pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
