Glasgow City have made a statement signing with the arrival of defender Codie Thomas on loan from WSL table-toppers Manchester City until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old has made four first-team appearances for the Citizens following a Champions League bow against Austrian champions St Pölten in late 2024.
And the Stockport native will look to gain experience at last season’s SWPL runners-up as she seeks to break into the Manchester City side next term, having signed a new two-year deal in September 2025.
She joins English defender Lydia Sallaway, who arrives on loan from Aston Villa, and American midfielder Emily Gray as coach Leanne Ross looks to consolidate Glasgow’s position at the top.
Right back Thomas said: “I’m really excited to be here, go out there, get some minutes, and show everyone what I am about.
“The game in Scotland is really interesting, and every match is going to be tough. It’s a really good league to come into and to play in.”
Glasgow City head coach Leanne Ross added: “We’re pleased to bring Codie to Glasgow City for the rest of the season.
“She is an energetic player who is composed on the ball and works hard out of possession, and has already gained senior experience in England and in the Champions League.
“As we enter a crucial period of the campaign, Codie’s arrival adds more competition and quality to the squad, and we look forward to seeing how she contributes during her time in Scotland.”
