The Milwaukee Bucks have indicated to teams that they are keeping Giannis Antetokounmpo through the Thursday trade deadline and will start making other trades, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.

"They were never serious," one team executive, who was discussing a Giannis trade with Milwaukee, told Jake Fischer.
Just after these reports, the Bucks have agreed to trade Cole Anthony and Amir Coffey to the Phoenix Suns for Nick Richards and Nigel Hayes-Davis.
They are also reportedly looking at Ja Morant and his situation with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Meanwhile, NBA insider Brian Windhorst now expects the Bucks to shut down Giannis for the season.
Greek Freak is currently dealing with a calf injury. Antetokounmpo previously missed eight games from Dec. 5-26 with a right calf strain. Strains to his left calf caused him to miss the 2024 playoffs and the 2025 All-Star Game.
Antetokounmpo has averaged 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists over 30 games this season.
