Chelsea's best XI to beat Wolves doesn't include Cole Palmer or£75m teammate - opinion

Chelsea will not have long to put the EFL Cup semi-final defeat to Arsenal behind them before they are back in Premier League action again.

Liam Rosenior boasts a perfect record so far in this competition, and will be well aware that their placement in the league will be what he is judged hardest on by the owners at the end of the season.

The boss was bold with his tactics to try and get a result against Arsenal, however it can be expected he will return to a more traditional setup to take on Wolves.

Did Rosenior get his tactics wrong against Arteta? 🤔

Hindsight is a wonderful thing…

The opposition on Saturday currently sit bottom of the Premier League, and Chelsea made light work of them when they travelled to Stamford Bridge earlier this season.

Chelsea’s best XI to beat Wolves

The Chelsea Chronicle have named their XI to take on Wolves on Saturday, which doesn’t include star man Cole Palmer, who is clearly still struggling.

Robert Sanchez will start in goal, but will be well aware that Filip Jorgensen is closing in on a return from his recent injury woes.

After a big evening for Malo Gusto against Arsenal, he will be replaced in the starting side by Josh Acheampong.

Trevoh Chalobah has greatly impressed during Rosenior’s time in charge, and will be named in the starting side at Molineux.

He will be partnered by Benoit Badiashile, replacing Wesley Fofana. Minutes have come the Frenchman’s way far easier since the new manager came in.

Marc Cucurella will keep his place in the side at left-back, continuing to prove he is one of the most important first team players right now.

In midfield, Andrey Santos‘ impressive run under Rosenior will continue. We are picking him to start as Romeo Lavia continues his recovery.

He will be partnered by Moises Caicedo, with the duo impressing together whenever they are in the same XI.

What changes would you make to our side to face Wolves?

Ahead of those two, Enzo Fernandez will be looking to continue to build on what will surely end up as the best goalscoring season of his career.

Rosenior will be hoping that Pedro Neto is ready to start against his former club on the right of attack after he missed the game against Arsenal due to an injury.

On the left, Alejandro Garnacho will be given another chance after his disaster of a performance against West Ham.

Up front, Joao Pedro will start again. The Brazil international is enjoying a really strong run of form in the Premier League.
