The Mavs have had interest in Jones this season and got him before Thursday's deadline. Hornets open up a $7 million trade exception.

On February 4, Jones was traded to the Hornets along with two second-round picks in exchange for cash considerations. He has not appeared in Charlotte.

This season, the 29-year-old playmaker is averaging 3.0 points and 2.4 assists per game.

Branham, who was involved in the Anthony Davis trade and moved from Washington to Dallas, is putting up 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists this season.
