Liverpool let a number of players go in the 2025 summer transfer window, including Jarell Quansah.
Perhaps the biggest regret of the window was deciding to sell Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich.
Richard Hughes overruled Arne Slot to sanction the exit of the Colombian, and Diaz has since received praise for his form in Germany.

Liverpool are lacking pace in the forward areas right now, and they really could do with a player like the now Bayern man.
Another problem area for the Reds this season has been centre-back, with Giovanni Leoni, Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate all spending time out for various reasons.
But Liverpool’s defensive woes may not have been as bad had Jarell Quansah stayed put.
Jarell Quansah Liverpool return mooted
After failing to secure a regular starting place in the club’s backline, Quansah wanted to leave Liverpool in the summer.

He has since signed for Bayer Leverkusen and is now a regular starter in Germany.
However, speaking to talkSPORT about the Reds’ centre-back situation, Andy Brassell mooted the idea that the Englishman could return to Anfield.
He said: “I wonder if at some point Jarell Quansah maybe comes back. I think that has to be a question as well. We’ve seen that before with players going out to the Bundesliga.
“Or do you even look at going way back, look at Dani Carvajal having his year in Leverkusen before going back to Real Madrid and becoming a Real Madrid legend. That’s always a possibility, I think.”

Liverpool told they need more centre-backs
With Quansah, who Jurgen Klopp called a ‘top talent’ departing, Liverpool went out and signed Giovanni Leoni during the summer.
More recently, they completed a £60m move for Jeremy Jacquet, who will join ahead of next season.
However, Brassell also suggested Liverpool can’t rely on said duo and Virgil van Dijk.
He said: “I’m sure Liverpool will go out and buy another centre-back from here. They have to.
“They really have to go out and buy a new centre-back from here because, depending on what happens with Van Dijk, they can’t have Van Dijk plus Jacquet and Leoni going into next season.”
