The Charlotte Hornets have waived veteran guard Mike Conley, who's expected to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Charlotte Hornets are waiving recently acquired veteran guard Mike Conley.
Charlotte Hornets / Schedule
According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, Conley has been waived by the Hornets.
Conley was initially sent to the Chicago Bulls by the Timberwolves, and this past Tuesday, he was rerouted to the Charlotte Hornets.
According to reports, Conley is expected to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
He is eligible to return to Minnesota this season thanks to the "Andrew Bogut Rule." The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) prohibits a team from re-acquiring a player they traded away until one year has passed; however, this restriction only applies to the team that most recently traded the player before they were waived.
Conley is averaging 4.4 points and 2.9 assists in 44 games this season. Despite being 38 years old, he can still provide serviceable minutes and leadership on any potential team.
