WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark has become one of the biggest names in sports and she has openly become a big-time fan of the Indiana Pacers.

Of course, Clark is the face of the franchise for the Indiana Fever. She has taken the state by storm and has helped turn the Fever into arguably the most popular team in the WNBA. However, she has also been very vocal about the Pacers.

On Thursday, Indiana made a blockbuster move ahead of the NBA trade deadline. The Pacers made a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers that brought in star center Ivica Zubac.

The full trade saw Zubac and Kobe Brown traded to Indiana in exchange for Bennedict Mathurin, Isaiah Jackson, a protected 2026 first-round pick, an unprotected 2029 first-round pick, and a future second-round draft pick.

Following the trade going down, Clark took to social media to send a strong message about the Pacers.

At the end of the day, Indiana’s 2025-26 season has already come to an end. Zubac was acquired largely for the next two seasons to be a running mate for star point guard Tyrese Haliburton.

Haliburton has been forced to miss the entire season after tearing his Achilles during Game 7 of the NBA Finals last year against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

To say that Clark was a fan of the Zubac trade would be an understatement.

“Pacers 2027 world champions,” her post read.

Clark could very well be right. With a healthy Haliburton and a new star center onboard, the Pacers should pick up where they left off last season. Indiana should be a serious contender in the Eastern Conference during the 2026-27 NBA season.

Taking a Look Ahead to Next Season for the Pacers

Even though trading both Mathurin and Jackson was a tough loss for Indiana, the Pacers got better on Thursday. Zubac is the exact fit that the team needed.

Last year, one of Indiana’s biggest weaknesses was rebounding and physicality in the paint. Zubac is among the NBA’s elite in both of those categories. He has also been a proven lob threat and is a top-tier screener as well, which will fit nicely alongside of Haliburton.

So far this season with the Clippers, Zubac has played in 43 games and made 42 starts. He has averaged 14.4 points per game to go along with 11 rebounds and 2.2 assists, while shooting 61.3 percent from the floor and 70.5 percent from the free throw line.

Standing in at 7-foot-0 and 240 pounds, Zubac will bring elite size to the court for the Pacers. He’s not the most athletic big man in the NBA, but he knows how to use his size well.

It will be interesting to see how this trade works out for Indiana. Giving up two talented players and three draft picks is a risk, but Zubac was well worth that risk and Clark clearly agrees.
