Hugo Ekitike has gone from strength to strength at Liverpool, with Peter Crouch the latest to praise the centre-forward.
The Reds might have had a difficult season overall, creating speculation about Arne Slot’s job.
But Ekitike has excelled since moving to Anfield from Eintracht Frankfurt over the summer.
The Frenchman already has 15 goals this season, and his partnership with Florian Wirtz has seen Liverpool’s results improve somewhat in recent matches.

Peter Crouch says Hugo Ekitike is similar to Fernando Torres
After scoring his second against the Magpies, Gary Lineker and Arne Slot compared Ekitike to Romario, who enjoyed much success in the Netherlands and won the World Cup with Brazil.
But now, speaking on the That Peter Crouch Podcast, the former Liverpool and Portsmouth forward has compared the 23-year-old to Fernando Torres.

Crouch specifically mentioned how Ekitike’s second goal against Newcastle was similar to what Torres used to do against Manchester United’s Rio Ferdinand.
He said: “Do you know what Ekitike’s second goal reminded me of? When he burst past him?
“Reminded me of peak Torres at Anfield. You know, like where he slows people down and then bursts like, he kind of slowed him.
“I remember him doing one to Rio [Ferdinand], a couple of times actually, where he slowed him down and then bang gone with the pace and then outside the right foot, reminded me of him.”
Torres played against Manchester United on six occasions as a Liverpool player, finding the back of the net three times.

Which Liverpool player has scored the most goals against Manchester United
Ekitike only played 28 minutes of the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United earlier this season and did not score.
But if he stays at Liverpool for many years and continues his current form, he could catch Mohamed Salah eventually.
Salah has found the back of the net 16 times while lining up against the Red Devils.
Steven Gerrard takes second place for most goals scored by a Liverpool player against Utd (9).
Gerrard is followed in the list by Dick Forshaw (8), Harry Chambers (7) and Robbie Fowler (6).
