Nigel Hayes-Davis becomes free agent after Bucks decision

Nigel Hayes-Davis was waived by the Milwaukee Bucks after a three-team trade that brought Ousmane Dieng to the team. The 31-year-old forward did not stay on the roster once the deal was completed and could become an unrestricted free agent if he clears waivers.

Nigel Hayes-Davis time with the Milwaukee Bucks has come to an early end. The Bucks waived the 31-year-old forward on Thursday after completing a three-team trade that also brought Ousmane Dieng to Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Bucks / Schedule

Hayes-Davis was included in the deal but did not stay on the roster once the trade was finalized, per the Bucks press release. As a result, the former EuroLeague star will now enter waivers and could soon become an unrestricted free agent.

The Ohio native has limited NBA experience. He appeared in nine games during the 2017-18 season and later played 27 games with the Phoenix Suns at the start of the 2025-26 Regular Season.

This season, Hayes-Davis averaged 1.3 points and 1.2 rebounds in 27 games while shooting 32.6% from the field.

Most of his success came overseas. Hayes-Davis became one of the top forwards in Europe and reached the peak last season with Fenerbahce Beko. He was named EuroLeague Final Four MVP and helped the Turkish powerhouse win the championship.
