Midfielder's Agents Set To "Meet" With Newcastle As Interest From Arsenal And Other Top PL Clubs Is Confirmed

Representatives of Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali will “meet” with the club to discuss his future over the next few months, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian international has been linked with a move away from St James’ Park, and speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano confirmed that several clubs, both in the Premier League and abroad, are keeping tabs on the player ahead of the next transfer window:

“In the summer, keep an eye on Tonali. We will tell you more soon, but there is Juventus interested, there are Premier League top clubs interested, so I am sure for Tonali, the summer is going to be busy, very busy.”

“With Arsenal, because Arsenal, and this is important, I told you also yesterday, Arsenal are interested in the player. Arsenal are considering Sandro Tonali, but there are more clubs in England and in Italy with Juventus.”

“So, nothing at the moment, concrete, also because, as his agent said, we have to see Newcastle’s position, we have to respect Newcastle in this story. So, let’s see around [the] end of February, March, April, when agents and Newcastle will meet to discuss what Newcastle will decide to do.”

Tonali has plenty of suitors

As well as Arsenal and Juventus, reports suggest that Chelsea and Manchester City are also said to be circling the 25-year-old.

City boss Pep Guardiola was spotted speaking with Tonali at length following the final whistle of the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg at the Etihad on Wednesday night.

It has been claimed that Tonali won’t force a move away from the Magpies as Alexander Isak did last year, but he will be keen on leaving if the club can’t secure Champions League football for next season.

Eddie Howe‘s side are currently seven points off the top 5 with 14 games still to go this campaign.
