West Ham Hit With Disasi Warning Ahead of Burnley Clash
West Ham have been warned not to expect too much too soon from loan signing Axel Disasi, who arrived from Chelsea on transfer deadline day.
Yesterday, manager Nuno Espírito Santo spoke positively about the French defender’s condition. The Hammers boss praised Disasi’s fitness, saying: “He’s been working hard, and he’s in a good place physically. You can see he’s been working hard at Chelsea.”
However, that assessment has been disputed this morning by a source with links to Chelsea, who suggested West Ham may have to wait weeks to see the best of the centre-back.
Speaking exclusively to Claret & Hugh, we were told:
“Disasi was freely on offer to everyone, but no one wanted him because his fitness levels were so low. Clubs that were interested felt he would take four to six full games to get up to the level needed.

The same source added that today’s game could offer an early indication of where Disasi really is physically.
“Tomorrow will tell you the manager’s judgement. Burnley are not exactly going to put you under constant pressure, so if Nuno doesn’t start him, it will tell you the player isn’t ready yet.”
In short, while Nuno Espírito Santo is talking up Axel Disasi’s condition, those closer to Chelsea are urging caution – and warning Hammers fans that patience may be required before the loanee is anywhere near full throttle.
