Renée Slegers has been nominated for the Women's Super League Manager of the Month award for January after guiding us to a third consecutive unbeaten month in the league.
Due to our participation in the FIFA Women's Champions Cup, we played just two league games in the first month of 2026, securing four points without conceding a goal.
While 2026 got off to a frustration start with a 0-0 draw against Manchester United at Emirates Stadium, our second league game of the year was a memorable one.
Goals from Beth Mead and Mariona Caldentey saw us beat Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge, marking our first victory over our London rivals at their west London home.
With our two clean sheets in our opening two games of the year, we now have the best defence in the WSL, having conceded just ten goals in our 13 league games.

Among the other nominees is Andrée Jeglertz of Manchester City, who saw his side win both league games this month. Marc Skinner (Manchester United) and Gareth Taylor (Liverpool) also make the shortlist after seeing their sides remain unbeaten in January.
The winner will be announced on Thursday, January 12.
