Alexander Isak’s transfer value has dropped during his first season at Liverpool following his big-money transfer from Newcastle United. The Reds were heavily linked with signing Isak for several months before a deal was eventually agreed on deadline day last September.
Liverpool agreed a £125million deal with Newcastle to sign Isak, who became the club’s most expensive signing and a British transfer record. In the same window, Liverpool signed Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal that could reach £116million with add-ons, while Hugo Ekitike also moved to Anfield for a fee that could rise up to £79million.
Isak arrived at Liverpool having not played a single minute for Newcastle during pre-season and spent the majority of the first couple of months of the season building up his fitness.

After scoring three goals across 16 appearances for Liverpool, Isak suffered an ankle injury and a fractured fibula during the win over Tottenham Hotspur back in December.
The injury required Isak to undergo surgery, which is expected to leave the striker on the sidelines for several months, and there is still no exact timeframe for a return to action.
At the time of Isak’s arrival, Transfermarkt valued the Sweden international at £121.7million (€140million). However, that valuation has now dropped to £104.3million (€120million).
It should come as no surprise to see Isak’s market value drop this season, given the striker has only played 16 games since the end of May and has spent the majority of the time since then either recovering from injury or building up his fitness.
Arne Slot was asked about Isak’s fitness last month, with the Liverpool head coach suggesting that a return to the matchday squad is not expected anytime soon.
"He's [sak] not even on the pitch yet,” Slot said on January 30. “He's just out of his walker, so that tells you that we're not expecting him on the pitch today or tomorrow in terms of his recovery work. That's going to take a while before he's back, as we knew."
