Mike Conley's next team confirmed

Minnesota Timberwolves are set to re-sign their recently traded veteran guard.

Minnesota Timberwolves / Schedule

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, free agent guard Mike Conley Jr. plans to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Conley was traded twice this week – to Chicago Bulls, then to Charlotte Hornets – before being released and allowed to rejoin the Wolves.

He is eligible to return to Minnesota this season thanks to the "Andrew Bogut Rule." The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) prohibits a team from re-acquiring a player they traded away until one year has passed; however, this restriction only applies to the team that most recently traded the player before they were waived.

Conley is averaging 4.4 points and 2.9 assists in 44 games this season. Despite being 38 years old, he can still provide serviceable minutes and leadership on any contending team.
