Enzo Fernandez’s rise at Chelsea has been spectacular this season, adding goals and assists to his game on a regular basis.
It was Cole Palmer who Chelsea fans relied on to deliver in the final third last season, and this time round, Enzo Fernandez has taken on the role of creator in the final third.
He’s scored an incredible 11 goals and assisted three in all competitions so far this season. This has seen Fernandez earn comparisons to Frank Lampard, which he is completely flattered by.
Out of Andrey Santos, Joao Pedro and Estevao Willian, who deserves a World Cup place the most?🤔

Fernadez’s performances have attracted the eyes of Real Madrid, despite the Argentine being viewed as almost untouchable at Chelsea.
But he’s very much focused on Chelsea and enjoys the players he has around him.
Enzo Fernandez loves playing with Moises Caicedo
Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez shook the football world with their £115 million and £106m transfer fees, but they’ve more than justified it now.
Speaking to ESPN, Enzo Fernandez spoke about just how much he enjoys being in the same side.
“I like to play with Moi, he’s a beast, I enjoy playing next to him.
“I prefer to play with a midfielder like that next to me because I can let go.”

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo’s unbreakable bond
The partnership between Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo has evolved into the heartbeat of Chelsea’s midfield after a turbulent first year of adaptation.
Under Liam Rosenior’s current system, they have moved away from the rigid inverted full-back experiments of the past, instead operating as a more traditional double pivot.
Caicedo has emerged as the Premier League’s most effective disruptor, leading the league in interceptions (40) and ball recoveries, which allows Fernandez to express his attacking instincts.
The most significant change in 2026 has been the introduction of Andrey Santos into a midfield trio. Rather than being forced to do everything, Caicedo can focus on hunting the ball in the middle third, while Fernandez has the license to arrive late in the penalty area.
This season has seen Jamie Carragher hail Enzo Fernandez as one of the best in the Premier League too.
