Magic sign 6-foot guard shooting 41 percent on three-pointers this year

The NBA trade deadline may have passed, but there's still a lot of transactions set to happen over the coming weeks.

Free agents and players who have been waived have the opportunity to sign with their next team, and one player just inked a deal with the Magic.

ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Friday that the Magic signed guard Jevon Carter to a deal that will last for the rest of this season.

Carter has been with the Bulls for the last two and a half seasons, but was waived a few days ago by the team.

Carter has played 23 games this season and is having his third best three-point shooting season of his career, shooting 41% from downtown.

It's unclear what type of role he'll have with the Magic, but it seems he'll be a backup guard option off the bench as a three-point specialist.

This deal also came less than 24 hours after the Magic parted ways with Tyus Jones before the trade deadline.
