Hornets' Kon Knueppel breaks all-time Stephen Curry shooting record

The Charlotte Hornets are one of the hottest teams in the NBA.

Charlotte has won eight consecutive contests and looks like a team poised to be a sleeper contender in the postseason. Kon Knueppel’s remarkable offensive contributions as a rookie are a significant reason why the Hornets are trending upward.

The 6-foot-6 sharpshooting guard is contributing 18.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, shooting 48.5% from the field and 42.4% from beyond the arc with the 24-28 Hornets this season.

After an impressive outing against the Houston Rockets on Thursday, the X/Twitter account ‘Real App’ revealed that Knueppel had just broken an all-time Stephen Curry shooting record.

“Kon Knueppel passes Steph Curry in all-time threes made by a rookie,” the stats-based account said.

Knueppel has been on fire from three lately. The Duke product connected on 41.7% of his triples in January and seems to have the utmost confidence in his ability to be a long-term perimeter shooting threat in Charlotte.

Although Knueppel’s collegiate teammate, Cooper Flagg, is the clear Rookie of the Year frontrunner, Knueppel is undoubtedly giving him a run for his money.

Assuming the 2026 lottery pick continues to flaunt his high-level three-point shooting chops and guide the Hornets in the right direction, he’ll be in the mix for the prestigious individual honor at the end of the season.
