Arsenal hold talks to sign 'insane' Premier League striker amid 'significant' update on his…

Arsenal are eyeing a potential summer move to sign Bournemouth star Eli Junior Kroupi, according to Media Foot.

The Gunners have had a magical season so far as they sit top of the Premier League table, and are in the Carabao Cup final, as well as reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League following eight wins from eight league phase games.

Mikel Arteta has one of the strongest squads in Europe at his disposal this season, but the north London giants are not looking to stand still, and they are already looking at ways to bolster the squad further once the season comes to an end.

Kroupi, who has been described as 'insane' by football scout Jacek Kulig, has had a phenomenal debut season in the Premier League with the Cherries, registering eight goals from ten starts in Andoni Iraola's side.

Those performances have seen several Europe's top clubs stand up and pay attention, and according to a new report, Arsenal are one of those sides. In fact, it's stated that the club already held talks over a deal to sign the young Frenchman in the autumn, but they now face stiff competition from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Bournemouth are highly unlikely to want to sell, having just lost Antoine Semenyo to Man City in January, but Arsenal will be encouraged by the fact they agreed deals to sell all of Ilya Zabarnyi, Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez last summer too.

It's also stated that Kroupi could be open to a move away from the Vitality Stadium, with the 19-year-old forward recently switching agents to link up with Moussa Sissoko, who also represents the likes of Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele, and Bradley Barcola.

Kroupi Would Be Excellent Business

Arsenal have gone big on strikers in recent years, spending over £170m on bringing in Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres, but none of them have really been able to make the position their own and justify the fees.

There has been talk that Havertz and Jesus could be on the move this summer, while Gyokeres' place in the side has been called into question. Kroupi would be a gamble, considering he's never played at the top level and is still young, but his talent is undeniable.

Bringing him into the squad to work alongside the other top players at the Emirates and develop him into the star he could be may be the best thing Arsenal can do, and this should be one to keep an eye on in the coming months.
