Liverpool are taking on Manchester City in a Premier League meeting this weekend, and should be out for revenge following their last clash.
The Reds go into this meeting having won their last two games in all competitions, most recently putting four past Newcastle United.
A sign that things have turned around for Arne Slot, or just a flash in the pan?

It remains to be seen, given how inconsistent Liverpool have been this season, especially in the Premier League.
A win over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City would be a real statement of intent from Slot and co., however, and one man in particular should be looking to silence any remaining critics.
Gary Neville was very harsh on Florian Wirtz after Liverpool lost to Manchester City
The reverse fixture in 2025/26 took place on November 9 at the Etihad, and saw the home outfit secure a 3-0 win.
No Liverpool players really covered themselves in glory, but Florian Wirtz’s display came under particularly heavy fire from Gary Neville.

As per Sky Sports, he said: “I thought Wirtz in particular – it was a really bad day for him.
“We’ve been tiptoeing around him, haven’t we, for a few months, around the fact that he’s young, coming to a new country. But he’s £120m, you’re going to have to stand up soon.
“He’s been mauled out there today by [Matheus] Nunes and by others. He’s been chucked around the pitch and didn’t deliver in the quality side of things either. His performance was a real worry.
“Wirtz is a problem, let’s call it what it is. It’s an issue. He’s £120m and he looked like a little boy out there.”

Florian Wirtz is a different player ahead of Liverpool vs Man City
The City defeat was the Germans’ 11th straight Premier League match without a goal contribution.
But not long after Neville told the £116m man he was ‘going to have to stand up soon’, Wirtz started firing on all cylinders.
In the 12 Premier League appearances since the 3-0 loss, the 23-year-old has notched an impressive seven goal contributions.
Rio Ferdinand is unhappy with Wirtz’s newfound form, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see a completely different player take to the field against Manchester City this time around.
There were a variety of factors for the Liverpool player’s struggles, but there can now be no denying that he’s well and truly arrived in England.
