Latest Luka Doncic Injury Update is Good News for the Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers superstar guard Luka Doncic appears to have avoided a major hamstring injury.

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Doncic is not dealing with a major issue on his left hamstring.

However, McMenamin did mention that Doncic is doubtful to play in L.A.’s next game on Saturday against the Golden State Warriors.

The 26-year-old superstar suffered the injury late in the second quarter against the 76ers. Doncic headed to the locker room and did not return to the contest. While his return was worrisome, Lakers head coach JJ Redick did say he was not too worried about Doncic’s injury.

"He got some soreness in his hamstring. He didn't feel like it was good enough to go back in, neither did medical. So we helped him out. Go get some imaging. To early to say if any injury, but just had a sore hamstring,” Redick said after the game.

L.A, came out on top over the 76ers to earn their 31st win of the season, 119-115.

If Doncic misses some time with this injury, look for Austin Reaves and LeBron James to carry the load. The trio of Doncic, James and Reaves has only played a total of nine full games together.
