Late in the first half of the Los Angeles Lakers' eventual home win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night, a visibly-frustrated Luka Doncic kicked the scorer's table and walked off the court at Crypto.com Arena with a suspected muscle injury.
Doncic, the NBA's leading scorer, has been largely healthy this season. But Lakers fans feared the worst when the All-Star guard was ruled out with "left leg soreness" -- and Los Angeles went on to secure a narrow 119-115 win without him.

ESPN's Dave McMenamin revealed Friday that the Lakers have "initial optimism" that Doncic has avoided a major injury to his left hamstring.
But McMenamin reported Doncic may miss out on Saturday's game against the Golden State Warriors, the second game in the Lakers' eight-game homestand.

The Lakers (31-19) have been hoping to bank some wins on this homestand as they try to separate themselves from the chasing pack of teams in the West. Doncic may miss a few days as he recovers from what was clearly a painful injury -- and with only one game separating the fourth-seeded Lakers from the Play-In Tournament seeds, the games are only going to get bigger from here.
