Development may ruin Chelsea transfer plans–Blues‘crazy idea’ up in smoke

Back in October, Gazzetta dello Sport reported on a Chelsea offer for Juventus star Kenan Yildiz.

The newspaper were confident the Blues put forward €70m for the attacker but it was rejected by the Italian club. There was belief the London side could make a renewed attempt in the following months.

At that point, there was uncertainty about the Turkey international’s long-term contract. His father-agent had been demanding a much higher salary, attracting interest from Chelsea and other clubs.

Yildiz’s future was expected to hinge on his new contract and Juve were struggling to meet his demands.

Chelsea plan looks up in smoke

Now, things are changing. TuttoSport report the Bianconeri are very close to agreeing a deal that will expire in 2030.

Yildiz will earn about €6m per season in that, which is a big upgrade on what he gets now. It is also quite similar to what he demanded, as he wanted to be treated and paid like a key player in the side.

Tuttosport claim Chelsea had a ‘crazy idea’ about showering Yildiz with big money. There was also interest from Real Madrid, who were keeping an eye on the situation. Bundesliga clubs were also considering the possibility of bringing him back to Germany.

Now, those plans at Stamford Bridge will be up in smoke. Luciano Spalletti’s relationship with the 20-year-old has blossomed and this has played a key role in his long-term stay in Turin.
