New signings Evan Mooney and Jaden Dixon made their debuts on an otherwise uneventful evening as Arsenal U21s drew 0-0 at home to Everton tonight.
Mooney started up front and then moved out to the right wing before being replaced in the 77th minute. The prospect didn’t see much of the ball but worked hard and demonstrated his good hold up play as well as his pace.
Dixon, meanwhile, came on at right-back in the 81st minute and impressed with his aerial ability.
Arsenal made one change to the side that comfortably dispatched of Leeds last weekend, with Mooney replacing Charles Sagoe Jr.
Dixon, meanwhile, was named on the bench in place of Alex Marciniak, with Josh Nichols again left out of the squad.

The Everton side included former Arsenal forward Omari Benjamin.
There wasn’t a notable opening for either side until the 12th minute, when Ife Ibrahim had an effort saved following a free-kick.
Demiane Agustien then found Brando Bailey-Joseph, whose effort was kept out, before Tommy Setford made a save at the other end.
Agustien himself was denied after being located by Theo Julienne.
Malik Olayiwola shot over for Everton but the half ended goalless.
Hamill, who was starting his second consecutive game at right-back, pushed forwards well early in the second half and found left-back Josh Ogunnaike, who shot over.
Everton threatened intermittently, while Arsenal looked to switch matters up somewhat with Mooney moving across to the right wing which enabled Andre Harriman-Annous to go up front.
The latter did well to win the ball on one occasion and he then found Agustien, whose shot was saved.
Arsenal made a triple substitution as Louis Zecevic John, Archie Stevens and Marcell Washington replaced Mooney, Bailey-Joseph and Ogunnaike.
A further change followed and it was a significant one with England U19 international Dixon making his debut as he replaced Hamill.
Arsenal created a good opening late on with Agustien being thwarted by George Pickford.
Everton missed a chance of their own in the closing stages and that proved to be the final meaningful attempt on a very wet night.
Arsenal will be somewhat frustrated that they didn’t prevail, but Everton worked hard to make matters difficult for them.
Max Porter’s side have now gone three games without defeat following the heavy loss to Liverpool but they are set to face another tough task at home to Newcastle next week.
Captain Marli Salmon produced another accomplished display at the heart of the defence, with Brayden Clarke also performing well.
Substitute Zecevic John also helped to increase the urgency of Arsenal’s play but the young Gunners weren’t quite able to find the net.
