After Dallas Mavericks sent Davis to Washington in a salary dump deal, online talk quickly suggested the veteran big man was frustrated about landing with a rebuilding team. Davis denied that narrative in a conversation with David Aldridge of The Athletic.
"They said I said a lot of stuff in the other city, too, that I didn't say."
The Wizards were among the most active teams at the trade deadline, landing two former All-Stars in Davis and Trae Young without giving up their core young players or future first-round picks.

Both stars are currently injured and are unlikely to play this season as Washington focuses on protecting its top-eight pick.
Washington still leans on a young core that includes Alex Sarr, Kyshawn George, Tre Johnson, and others. What the team lacks is a clear long-term star to build around, which makes the direction of the franchise a key question moving forward.
Davis is under contract through next season and holds a player option for 2027 28, while Young has a player option for next year. Both players are entering key moments in their careers and are expected to seek long-term clarity from the Wizards front office.
