Stephen Curry is dealing with a knee injury but says his recovery is moving in the right direction.
Stephen Curry is dealing with another injury setback, but there is optimism that the Golden State Warriors star will not be sidelined for the rest of the season.

Curry has appeared in more than half of the Warriors' games this year, though his campaign has again included nagging injuries. The 37-year-old guard is currently managing a knee issue that has put his status for Saturday's Western Conference matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers in doubt.
According to ESPN reporter Anthony Slater, there is no sign that Curry's injury will keep him out long-term. Curry told Slater that his recovery is moving in a positive direction and that he expects to heal fully.
"It's trending in the right direction," Curry stated. "It's different than last year, but something that will heal."

Even so, the exact timeline for his return remains unclear. Slater noted that Curry is still being listed as day-to-day, and there is uncertainty about when he will be cleared to rejoin the lineup.
"It is unclear when he will return to the lineup," Slater wrote. "Early last season, Curry dealt with tendinitis in both of his knees, forcing the Warriors to manage his minutes and rest him for a game."
"This time around, he is dealing with what the team is listing as patellofemoral pain syndrome, also known as 'runner's knee', which typically consists of swelling and pain around the kneecap. The team continues to call him day-to-day, but he doesn't sound like someone preparing to return for Saturday night's ABC showcase game against the Los Angeles Lakers."
Patellofemoral pain syndrome can be tricky, especially for a veteran guard who relies on constant movement, quick cuts, and long shooting sessions. While missing one game may not hurt much, an extended absence would be a challenge for Golden State as the season moves forward.
For now, the Warriors will lean on a next man up approach while waiting for their leader to return. When healthy, Curry remains one of the league's most productive players. In 39 games this season, he is averaging 27.2 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds, continuing to carry the Warriors' offense at an elite level.
