Team: Boston Celtics

Position: SF

Age: 27

Height: 203 cm

Weight: 95 kg

Birth place: St. Louis, United States of America

Tatum suffered the injury in last season's Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the New York Knicks and underwent successful surgery.

He is making steady progress and could return near the end of the 2025-26 season.

"Obviously, any team with Jayson Tatum's going to be better," Stevens told ESPN on Friday. "If he needs it, I'll tell him every day. Because every team — all 30 of us — would be way, way better with him on the team."

Stevens stressed that while there is no pressure for Tatum to rush back, the superstar forward remains confident in his ability to contribute once healthy.

"Those are just things that go through everybody's minds. In all of our conversations, he's confident he can make the team better, too…He's hit a lot of the thresholds, he's doing more and more and will continue to do more and more. There's no pressure from us. But there's also not going to be any of us saying, 'Well, why don't you just take another week?' It's going to be: When he's ready, he's ready."

The Celtics have managed to remain competitive this season despite Tatum's absence. Boston holds a 34-18 record and sits second in the Eastern Conference, one game ahead of the New York Knicks and three games ahead of the Cleveland Cavaliers, though 4.5 games behind the Detroit Pistons.
