Wolverhampton Wanderers host Chelsea in a Premier League clash as Wolves’ season reaches a critical juncture. Wolves remain rooted to the bottom of the table, after securing just one win all campaign, and three points are needed to equal Derby County’s points record. They will be desperate to spark a turnaround against a Chelsea side coming off the back of a disappointing Carabao Cup semi-final knockout. Here is our Wolves team news & predicted lineup.
Wolves Predicted Lineup As Hosts Look To Reach Derby Point Record
How Wolves Have Lined Up Recently
Rob Edwards’ side has struggled for consistency and results this season, languishing at the foot of the Premier League with the league’s lowest goal tally and a defensive record that has offered little respite. Despite a brief improvement earlier this year, Wolves come into this fixture after a 2-0 loss to Bournemouth. In that game, José Sá started in goal. In front of him were a back three of Yerson Mosquera, Emmanuel Agbadou, and Santiago Bueno.
The midfield consisted of Rodrigo Gomes, João Gomes, André, and Hugo Bueno. The usual forward lineup of Tolu Arokodare and Hwang Hee-chan started up top.

Wolves Recent Form & Tactics
Wolves have found wins hard to come by in the second half of the season. Recent results have been a mixture of frustrating draws and back-to-back defeats. Edwards men’s focus has been on remaining compact and being difficult to break down, but chances created have been few and far between.
Against Chelsea, Wolves are likely to sit in a low-to-mid block without the ball, narrowing the spaces between the lines and looking to spring forward quickly through the wing-backs once possession is regained.
Wolves Team News

“A deal has been agreed with the club now, and I expect that one to be done in the coming days.”
In injury news, Ladislav Krejčí has trained with the squad and is available for selection. Toti Gomes is not training yet while recovering from a thigh injury.
