Liverpool had been showing interest in signing the Serie A star.

Juventus are currently fourth in the table, ten points off Inter Milan who are leading the way.

Not as dominant as they used to be, they still hold some serious talent within their squad.

Kenan Yildiz has been linked with Liverpool for sometime now, as it was reported as far back as 2023 that the player was recommended to Jurgen Klopp by Liverpool’s sporting director at the time Jorg Schadtke.

Since 2023, Yildiz has lit up the footballing world, and is one of the game’s hottest rising stars.

He continues to be on Liverpool’s radar, with Real Madrid also showing interest in signing the starlet in the past.

Still just 19 years old, he has grown to become a key part of Juventus’ team.

In January, we covered the fact that Yildiz was stalling over signing a new deal with the Serie A side.

Juventus were keen to keep him, but Yildiz was seeking a significant pay rise, an increase that he felt was deserved given his impact on the team.

The Germany-born winger, who plays internationally for Turkey, is on 1.5million per season and was seeking an increase to 6million per season – making him one of the highest paid players at the club.

Kenan Yildiz’s current contract doesn’t run out until 2029, but to ward off other clubs, Juventus have been looking to find a way to reach an agreement.

Get Yildiz on more money, and he’d be more likely to stay, that was Juventus’ thinking.

Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on the situation.

Via a post on X, he said: “Juventus reach verbal agreement with Kenan Yildiz and his camp over new long-term del.”

“New contract will be valid for the next four years as Yildiz has agreed to put pen to paper with salary increased.”

“He’s gonna be among the best paid players in the squad.”

Head coach Luciano Spaletti reportedly played a role in the improved contract, as he also tinkers on the edge of signing a new deal with the club.

Tying Yildiz to the club for the long-term was high on Spalletti’s list of demands.

Given that Yildiz has now agreed to his deal, Juventus will feel they are in a much better position to now tie Spalletti down too.
