According to SNY and veteran Knicks insider Ian Begley, Alvarado will make his New York debut on Sunday in Boston against the Celtics.
Alvarado was acquired by the Knicks ahead of last Thursday's trade deadline that sent Dalen Terry, two second-round picks and cash to the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Knicks have seriously pursued Alvarado for some time, and the Puerto Rican guard is expected to captivate New York fans with his pestering defense and competitive nature.
His addition couldn't be more crucial as Deuce McBride will miss some time after a sports hernia surgery.
In 41 games this season, Alvarado is averaging 7.9 points, 3.1 assists and 2.8 rebounds.
