How to Watch Charlotte Hornets vs Atlanta Hawks
Rookie Kon Knueppel scored 24 points to lead the Charlotte Hornets to a 109–99 road win over the Houston Rockets on Thursday night. LaMelo Ball added 20 points, while Miles Bridges chipped in 14. Moussa Diabate controlled the glass with 12 rebounds. Newly acquired Coby White did not dress, as Charlotte plans to keep him sidelined through the All-Star break with a strained left calf. White was acquired from the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday as part of a three-team trade that also brought Malaki Branham from the Washington Wizards and Xavier Tillman from the Boston Celtics.
The Atlanta Hawks also leaned on a new addition Thursday night, as Jock Landale delivered 26 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks in his debut to lift Atlanta to a 121–119 win over the visiting Utah Jazz. Nickeil Alexander-Walker knocked down the go-ahead jumper with 1.3 seconds remaining, while Jalen Johnson posted a triple-double with 22 points, 16 rebounds, and 15 assists. Corey Kispert added 20 points off the bench. Landale was acquired from Utah on Wednesday as part of a busy trade stretch that also brought Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield to Atlanta, while Kristaps Porzingis was sent to the Golden State Warriors. The Hawks also dealt Luke Kennard to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Gabe Vincent and a 2032 second-round pick.
