Pelinka believes the Lakers were active enough ahead of the trade deadline.
Despite making just one move ahead of last Thursday's NBA trade deadline, Rob Pelinka is steadfast in believing that he and the Los Angeles Lakers were active enough on their approach within the market.

"I would say we were aggressive," he told reporters in a media interview on Saturday. "One form of being aggressive is saying no to moves that come your way that might not be best for the short- and long-term future.
"That’s being aggressive, even though you end up doing nothing, because it’s hard to say no sometimes to getting a good player that could be a quick short-term fix but could have implications for the long term where it doesn’t fit into the overall vision you have for the team."
The Lakers are facing glaring issues with defense and wing depth this season, but they didn't move the needle much before the trade deadline.
They were reportedly attempting to shop two key players. In the end, it was only Gabe Vincent who parted ways. Luke Kennard is the Lakers' only acquisition before the trade deadline, acquiring the sharpshooter from the Atlanta Hawks.
"We were very aggressive. We worked incredibly hard. We evaluated numerous things. To your point, I can’t go into specific players or conversations with other GMs that would impede the trust of our business going forward. But we were super aggressive," Pelinka reiterated.
"We had multiple conversations, had lots of them, got close on some things, but ended up making the move we made and we feel good about it."
