Alperen Sengun apologizes for viral offensive remarks to female NBA Official

Sengun infamously called a female official "b----" in the Rockets' Wednesday loss against the Celtics.

Houston Rockets star Alperen Sengun is fully regretful about the offensive words he hurled towards a female NBA official, which led to his previous ejection in Wednesday's 114-93 loss to the Boston Celtics.

"That was immature by me," Sengun said after the Rockets' 112-106 Saturday road win over the Oklahoma City Thunder (via ESPN's Tim MacMahon).

"That was just in the moment, and I said some stuff I shouldn't say, but I felt bad about it."

Sengun went viral online as a video clip showed that he called Jenna Reneau a "b----" multiple times. The big man was complaining about a no-call and was ultimately ejected by the official with 6:03 left in the eventual loss.

The Turkish sensation revealed that he approached Reneau right after the game to apologize. The female official is currently in her first season as a league referee.

"It just happened in the heat of the moment. Then she understood, and it was good on both ends."

Sengun has helped the Rockets (32-19) to the No. 4 seed of the West so far this season. He is averaging 20.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.0 block in 44 games.
