Just a day after it was announced that Peyton Watson will be out for a month after sustaining a hamstring strain, it was Jamal Murray who suddenly sustained an apparent hip injury on Saturday against the Chicago Bulls.

Murray absorbed a hard contact in the air from Guerschon Yabusele and drained a layup with 4:17 left in regulation. Afterwards, he was seen hobbling and mincing in pain.

The Canadian star was ultimately escorted to the locker room, as the Nuggets subsequently ruled him out for the rest of the game.

In the postgame of their 136-120 win, David Adelman revealed that he talked to Murray after the game, in which the franchise guard expressed confidence that he is well despite the injury (h/t Katy Winge).

Adelman further noted that it's a left hip issue for Murray, and that they elected not to let him return, given their double-digit margin already over the Bulls.

His potential absence would be another crushing blow for the Nuggets team that has navigated through injuries all season long. Beyond Watson, Aaron Gordon (hamstring) remains unavailable for the Nuggets and could only return by March.

The first-time All-Star in Murray is enjoying the best season of his career, averaging 26.0 points and 7.5 assists.
