Chelsea star booed after every touch as Wolves fans refuse to forget what happened earlier this season - journalist

Cole Palmer is not the only Chelsea player who will not be welcome back at Molineux in the future.

The Chelsea attacker ensured that Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters had a horrid afternoon on Saturday.

Palmer scored a hat-trick in Chelsea’s 3-1 win against Wolves to keep the gap between his side and Manchester United in fourth place to just one point.

What did we make of Pedro Neto’s performance vs Wolves?🤔

Pedro Neto could not get his name on the scoresheet, but the winger also left Molineux as an unpopular man.

Wolves fans didn’t forget about Pedro Neto’s celebration

Neto, of course, used to play for Wolves and was greeted with a negative reception in Saturday’s game.

However, Wolves fans were not only hostile towards the 25-year-old because he left them for Chelsea in 2024.

As per Sky Sports journalist Adam Bates, Neto was booed with every touch, with his former supporters unhappy with his actions during Wolves’ 3-0 loss to Chelsea earlier in the season.

Neto scored that day and celebrated his goal wildly, something that the Molineux faithful clearly did not forget.

The good news for Neto is that he will not have to face the Midlands club next season. It is almost a certainty that Wolves will not be in the Premier League for the 2026/27 campaign. They are currently bottom of the table on eight points.

Neto had been struggling with a small injury, which is why he missed Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal during the week.

Pedro Neto’s crosses still not connecting

It was not Neto’s best game on Saturday, with the Portuguese putting in quite a few inaccurate crosses.

In fact, according to Sofascore, Neto failed to complete a single cross out of the eight he attempted. It was also a very similar story when Neto and Chelsea faced Pafos in the Champions League last month.

Pedro Neto really needs to mix up his game 🤦‍♂️

Maybe with a taller and more aerially dominant centre-forward, Neto would be having more success with his crosses. Without that, though, the Portugal international may need to vary up his game a bit.
