The January transfer deadline saw Chelsea attacker Tyrique George make his way to Everton with an option to buy him permanently in the summer.
Tyrique George‘s journey at Chelsea is a classic Cobham success story. After joining the club as an Under-8, George spent over a decade rising through the ranks.
And George’s first-team breakthrough began in late 2024 under Enzo Maresca, where he made his senior debut in the Conference League. He then went on to score his first senior goal against Legia Warsaw and a Premier League equaliser against Fulham that helped Chelsea secure Champions League qualification.
And by the end of the 2024/25 season, he had earned medals for both the Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
However, with the arrivals of Alejandro Garnacho and Estevao Willian, his path to consistent starts became blocked.

David Moyes rates Tyrique George’s performance
Everton secured a 2-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage, with Tyrique George coming on in the 69th minute to join former Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Speaking after the game, David Moyes was impressed with what he saw from the attacker (as per Everton).
“Yeah, Tyrique came on and did quite well. I’ve quite liked what I’ve seen in training. We’ve got to watch that we’re not bringing in somebody who might not be ready, but I thought he looked fine.
“He had a hand in the goal. So, yeah, I’m looking forward to [seeing more of him] because he’s looked good enough in training. He wants to score and we need people who want to score. That’s important to us.”

Tyrique George is unlikely to return to Chelsea
Tyrique George had an impactful debut for Everton. Although he started the match on the bench, he provided the directness and thrust Everton had been lacking.
He had one shot, one successful dribble, made nine out of 11 passes and two recoveries.
However, Geovany Quenda is set to join in the summer, as well as Emanuel Emegha, so it’s not as if it’s about to get any easier for George to break into the Chelsea plans.
Given the success of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall at Everton, the Toffees won’t be afraid to purchase and develop another Chelsea player.
