Cole Palmer might have played only a little over 1,000 minutes for Chelsea this season, spread across 17 appearances, but the England star has still had a hand in 10 goals.
His hat-trick against Wolves has now seen Palmer take his tally to eight goals for the season, alongside two assists, both of which he picked up against Napoli. Palmer’s form has improved under Liam Rosenior.
Palmer now has six of his 10 goals and assists this season under Rosenior, which is all the more impressive given his injury frustration under the Chelsea manager. He lasted 60 minutes before Rosenior subbed him.

Speaking on Premier League Productions alongside Ian Wright, Berbatov believes Palmer’s quality is “unbelievable” and is a leader in this Chelsea side, because he changes games for Rosenior’s side.
The quality he possesses is unbelievable. When he’s scoring, creating, he’s pushing them forward. He’s the guy who can come up with something special. It’s good to see him back and among the goals,” he said.
Bruno Fernandes also among those to praise Cole Palmer
Among the replies on Palmer’s Instagram on Saturday evening were plenty of Chelsea teammates and fans as you would imagine. But a surprise name popped up, in Man United’s Bruno Fernandes.

It comes after Palmer had been linked with Fernandes’ Man United over the last few weeks. Despite the rivalry between the two clubs, despite the two sides battling for the top four, Fernandes commented.
The Portuguese star posted “what a player” when describing Palmer. For Fernandes to be prompted into commenting on the Chelsea ace’s Instagram underlines just how impressive a performance Palmer put in.
