Mikel Arteta wants former player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back at Arsenal once his playing career is over.
He had been training back at his former club, and has been doing his coaching badges with them as he is currently without a club having been released from his contract with Turkish club Beşiktaş in August.
The 32-year old has now joined Celtic as a free agent, but it seems there are already plans for his future once he finishes his stint in Scotland.
Arteta’s is keen to increase the involvement in former players at the club, believing that they have a unique understanding of the history, and that gives them an affinity that outsiders do not have.
He and Oxlade-Chamberlain have a close bond, and were team-mates at the North London club between 2014 and 2016. Oxlade-Chamberlain made 198 appearances in a six-year spell at the Emirates, before leaving for Liverpool.
