The former Celtic player is now at Birmingham City in the English Championship.
A Birmingham City star has been reminded of a Celtic moment that ranks as his career-best.
The Hoops are currently in the Premiership title race and scraped by Dundee after extra time in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup on Saturday night. South of the border, there are several former stars, and more than a few can be found at English Championship level with Birmingham City.
Managed by ex-Hoops coach Chris Davies, the Blues have Kyogo Furuhashi and Tomoki Iwata on their books, with Patrick Roberts a permanent addition to that core. He signed a permanent deal on transfer deadline day after spending the first half of the season on loan from Sunderland.

What did Pep Guardiola say about Patrick Roberts?
Roberts is a favourite of the Celtic support after a fruitful loan spell at the Premiership club from Manchester City, helping the Hoops win seven trophies while in Glasgow under Brendan Rodgers. He’s now had a Celtic flashback as when asked by Birmingham City’s in house media team over his best career goal, he pointed to one in the Champions League for the Parkhead outfit, ironically against his parent side during a 1-1 draw almost a decade ago.
Competition rules stated loanees could play against the club they had been loaned from and that allowed Roberts to dance in and out of City stars to rifle into the corner. In another ironic twist, Kelechi Iheanacho scored the leveller, and he’s now amongst the striking core at Parkhead.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was made up after the match, saying: "He has potential. I am so happy with his performance. We are going to talk about his future at the end of the season. We know his quality but the decision is not about one game. It is for one season."
Patrick Roberts on permanent move to Birmingham City
Rodgers said after the draw in Europe: "There's no point in him sitting on the bench and not playing. I'm sure there will be a big career for him at Manchester City. He'll come back here in the summer and Pep and his staff will have a real good look at him. But I think they'll be really encouraged by what they saw."
All focus is now on Birmingham City for the former Celtic star after his permanent switch. He said: "It was one of those that I was eager to get done and I'm glad it's done now. We have had a good run of late, picked up some good results and it's time to kick on now for the rest of the season. To come to a club like this and start how we have started is great. I want to continue that and show the fans what I can do for the next few months and two years and hopefully get promoted.
"The signings we have brought in this January is going to really help us and bring competition to the squad and it's going to push us on in the league. It's all positive, there's good buzz around the club at the minute and I'm glad to have signed and be a permanent player."
