Middlesbrough have produced some quality young talents in recent years, with perhaps the best name being midfielder Hayden Hackney, who has been linked to several Premier League clubs over the past year or so.
It seems there is a Boro player who the Gunners have been scouting, as TeamTalk report that both Arsenal and Chelsea are pushing for a move to sign Middlesbrough striker Cruz Ibeh.
The 17-year-old is very highly-rated in the North East, he has been shining for Boro’s youth teams, and no seems to have generated a lot of interest from Premier League clubs. It is understood that Liverpool and Man City are also monitoring Ibeh, but Chelsea and Arsenal are the current frontrunners.
Ibeh has made 16 appearances for Boro’s youth teams this season, scoring five goals, and providing three assists. He is yet to fully break out for the first team, but has made one appearace this season, coming on as a sub in a game against Fulham in the FA Cup.
The Gunners missed out on young Scottish striker James Wilson to rivals Spurs on transfer deadline day, so Ibeh could be the next option for the future of the number nine spot.
