Pep Guardiola has confirmed his Manchester City team for today’s game at Anfield, with five changes made from the midweek win over Newcastle as Marc Guehi and Erling Haaland both return.

Both sides have plenty on the line heading into the clash, with the Reds now sitting five points off the Premier League’s top four after wins for Manchester United and Chelsea on Saturday.

Meanwhile, City is trying to stay in touch with league leader Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta’s side having gone nine points clear with victory over Sunderland and looking on course to end its 22-year wait for the title.

With speculation surrounding his future, and reports suggesting that City has already begun to look at potential replacements, today could mark Guardiola's final visit to Anfield, although he hasn't confirmed anything on his future so far.

Speaking ahead of today’s game, Guardiola said in his pre-match press conference: "It is the toughest opponent. A difficult place and stadium, especially with the quality of the players and managers. It has been tough.

"I am trying to see how they play lately, what we have to do, adjust something.

You do it here, in the big stadiums at home and in the last stages of the competitions. That defines the good players and, as much you have, it defines the good teams.
