Liverpool will soon take to the field against Man City, and Arne Slot has named his XI for this iconic Premier League fixture.
It’s a rather unfavourable predicament for Liverpool going into this City clash.
On one hand, they have to win to keep pace with their Champions League qualification rivals, but on the other hand, a win would put Arsenal in pole position to win a first Premier League title in over 20 years.
Still, Slot is obviously aiming for all three points, as evidenced by the quality side he has chosen.
Liverpool confirmed XI vs Man City
Liverpool will remember being torn apart at the Etihad in the reverse of this fixture. A repeat of that result would not go down well, especially at home.
For that reason, it’s encouraging to see the heavy-hitters all getting into the side.

Slot and Guardiola aren’t the type of coaches to sit deep, so we should see an open game.
Judging by their European exploits, that could actually play into Liverpool’s hands.
Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher on Liverpool vs Man City
Ahead of the game, both Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher gave their thoughts on the game of the weekend while working punditry for Sky Sports.
Keane was asked whether this is a decisive game in the title race. He responded: Yeah, I think so. Yeah, obviously we’re running out of games. Arsenal obviously having another big big win yesterday, scoring goals, another clean sheet.
“So yeah, putting the pressure back on City and of course Liverpool have lost away a little bit this year in terms of their league form and um and they’ll be worried about obviously missing out on that Champions League. So big game for both clubs.”

As for Carragher, he reckons it’s a game that could play into Liverpool’s strengths.
He explains: “I think with how Liverpool sort of have looked in sort of the last couple of games at home, you know, a European game and against Newcastle scoring plenty of goals, starting to look a little bit more exciting.
“And Manchester City are going to play a game today that is not the one that Arne Slot keeps talking about was giving Liverpool problems in terms of set pieces, low blocks. So I think it’d be a great game, an open game and that will suit Liverpool, and it’ll suit City as well.”
Not long to go now.
