It is becoming a worrying recurrence.
For academy players, conduct is up there with the most important things they must show to rise through the ranks at a football club.
Stay professional, keep your head down and let your football do the talking.
Whilst many follow that route, for others, their road can be rockier.
For one player, the events of today have written the latest chapter in what has been a frustrating time for him since arriving at the club.
Liverpool U21s faced Southampton U21s earlier today and 18-year-old Amara Nallo was shown a straight red card with 25 minutes gone.
As a standalone offence this wouldn’t have been worrying, but given this is his third red card in just over a year, it tells a more concerning tale.
During his professional debut for the Reds back in January 2025, Nallo was sent off after barely 10 minutes on the pitch against PSV in the Champions League.
Fast forward to October 29th, with Liverpool hosting Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup, he was sent off once again, failing to capitalise on the opportunity presented to him by Arne Slot.
Nallo arrived at the club in 2023 with a lot of excitement around him.
He has quickly risen through the ranks to the first team despite only being 18 years of age, but his lack of composure is beginning to harm his progression.
There is a lot of talent in there, but he clearly needs some coaching to take some of the robustness out of his game and teach him some timing in his tackles.
A change of scenery could help Nallo, with a loan move a possibility in the summer given the arrivals of Jeremy Jacquet and a fully fit Giovanni Leoni returning from injury.
Liverpool down to 10 as Amara Nallo is sent off. 25 minutes in.
