Arsenal are expected to be among the clubs attempting to sign Bayern Munich star Leon Goretzka on a free transfer after the season, according to the Mirror.
The north London side were linked with a move for the Germany international during the summer transfer window and are likely to maintain their interest in Goretzka once he becomes a free agent in June.
Bayern have confirmed Goretzka will be departing at the end of his contract, a development that has put multiple European clubs on alert, with Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan among those following his situation closely.
Goretzka is believed to be particularly keen to play in the Premier League and feels English football would perfectly suit his style.

According to reports in Germany, Arsenal made checks on Goretzka’s situation in the closing stages of the January transfer window, following a serious injury to midfielder Mikel Merino.
The Gunners were also linked with a shock swoop for Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali, who reportedly remains a target ahead of the summer market.
Mikel Arteta’s side ended up making no reinforcements last month, but remain attentive to Goretzka’s situation after he decided to finish the season with Bayern, who are in contention to win their second Bundesliga title in a row under head coach Vincent Kompany.
Goretzka joined Bayern from fellow Bundesliga side Schalke in the summer of 2018 and has since made 292 appearances for the German club, scoring 47 goals and providing 48 assists.
The ‘unbelievable’ midfielder has lifted the Bundesliga six times during his time in the Bavarian capital and won the Champions League in 2020.

Arsenal could also revisit their interest in Tonali after the season, following reports claiming a move for the Italy international was considered during the winter window.
The Gunners explored the market following Merino’s injury and were reportedly offered Tonali via intermediaries who were trying to drum up late interest in the midfielder.
While talks between the camps failed to materialise, Tonali reportedly remains on Arsenal’s radar for the upcoming summer window, when Newcastle are expected to soften their stance on the midfielder.
The Magpies are in a strong negotiating position for the 25-year-old, whose contract at St James’ Park runs until June 2029, with the club holding a 12-month extension.
