The superstar added that ‘People going to get mad at me if I pick a team’ in his postgame interview, but that appeared toonly be his thoughts on the game while on national television, as in a separate post, James truly made his prediction for the Super Bowl.

LeBron James Super Bowl LX Prediction

For the past few years, James has been in partnership with DraftKings Sportsbook, whichinvolved him featured in commercials and marketing campaigns for the gambling company. Despite being unable to wager on anything related to the NBA, James has been outspoken about his thoughts on the NFL, making picks and predictions on games throughout the past few seasons.

Most recently, in a post made on X by the company on the day before the Super Bowl,in what differed from his comments given to ESPN after the Lakers’ victory, Jamesdropped his true prediction for the championship game.

“My prediction, I got Seattle coming out victorious,” James said. “I’ve just seen what they’ve been able to do all year; unbelievable defense, they fly around. Also got some heavy hitters on offenseas well.Sam Darnold, he’s bounced back from last year’s playoff performance…I got Seattle winning the Super Bowl.”

James made sure to give credit to the Patriots, specifically to head coach Mike Vrabel. He also said he was looking for a good game between ‘two competitive teams’ and added that, like so many other NFL fans, he is sad the season is finally coming to an end.

While James didn’t make his pick on national television with ESPN, he made sure to make his prediction clear with DraftKings, a gambling company he’s been in partnership with over the past couple of years.

LeBron With Another Strong Performance In Lakers-Warriors Game

As mentioned, James’ comments about taking the winner of the Super Bowl came after the Lakers beat the Warriors on Saturday night.

The leading storyline of the game was the injuriesfor both sides, as Los Angeles was without Luka Doncic and Deandre Ayton, while Golden State had Stephen Curry and new addition Kristaps Porzingis on the bench, as well as Jimmy Butler, who will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

James, however, alongside Austin Reaves and the rest of the Lakers’ healthy roster, put in another strong performance for his team, despite being the oldest player in the NBA.

He finished the night with a team-high 20 points, along with seven rebounds, ten assists, one steal, and one block in 25 minutes for what was his eighth double-double this season. James did finish with seven turnovers and only shot 35.2% from the field, but it was enough to lift his team over their Northern California rival.

Recently, James was also named an All-Star reserve, marking the 22nd time in his careerhe’s earned the honor, despite not being named a starter for the first time in his career. This season, James is averaging 21.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 6.8 assists on 50.1% shooting. While he has taken a step back compared to his form in years past, after missing the first month of the seasonwith sciatica, James continues to put in strong performances at age 41.

The injury to Doncic remains the biggest story for the Lakers going forward, but according to head coach JJ Redick and general manager Rob Pelinka, the injury is mild, and heis listed as ‘day-to-day.’

Los Angeles is 32-19 and fifth in the Western Conference standings as the country and world shift their focus to Super Bowl LX on Sunday night between the Seahawks and Patriots.
