The player is off the mark for their new club.
Signings made in the January transfer window are made with one goal in mind and that is to strengthen the squad.
New faces bring new energy and that can be vital for a team that are struggling.
Additions to a squad can bring new confidence, but for the player to begin their new life at a club by finding the back of the net, that can really give them a heightened personal sense of confidence too.
Liverpool Womens have had an up and down season so far, but they produced a stunning display this afternoon to beat Aston Villa 4-1.
Former player Miri Taylor scored what would only be a consolation goal against her old club as the Reds ran riot.
For Liverpool, the goals were evenly shared with Mia Enderby, Martha Thomas, Grace Fisk and Aurelie Csillag all finding the back of the net.
Aurelie Csillag joined from SC Freiburg in January on a permanent transfer.
The Swiss striker was making just her second appearance in red when she put the final nail in Aston Villa’s coffin with Liverpool’s fourth goal of the day.
Csillag was one of six additions for Liverpool Womens as they look to turn their season around.
Currently sat in 11th place out of a 12-team league, they will be well aware that they are capable than a lot better than that.
Head coach Gareth Taylor reflected on the win, highlighting the significance of the new additions during the January transfer window.
“You can see the team since the turn of the year with the new signings we brought in, whether they play or don’t play, it just gives us options.”
“We are able to change things up today a little bit and bring fresh energy onto the pitch.”
“We weren’t able to do that in the first part of the season and that’s massive, especially for the way we want to play. Fair play – the girls gave it everything today and really grinded out a good home win for us.”
